Installation of renewable energy systems to six luxury barn conversions for Cheshire Barn Homes

Hoofield Barns is a Grade II listed former dairy farm in the Cheshire countryside and a flagship development for Cheshire Barn Homes Ltd. With an ethos for creating stylish, contemporary accommodation from redundant buildings that are economical to run and meet exacting sustainability targets, Fervo were appointed to advise and install an integrated renewable energy system.

Fervo were involvement began at the drawing board, taking into consideration the installation and running costs, quality and reliability, space available and the green credentials of the chosen products. With six unique plots, heat loss calculations were completed and recommendations made covering a range of technologies.

After detailed consideration, Stiebel Eltron ground source heat pumps with borehole collectors were installed in each unit, serving a mix of under-floor and radiator heating systems with digital room controls. A heat recovery ventilation system was installed in each unit to maximise energy efficiency, reduce heating costs and introduce clean filtered air.
