Apart from possibly needing planning permission, any solar PV installations that are capable of having a peak export of 3.68kW to the grid (a standard domestic size system), prior approval will be required from the regional District Network Operator (DNO) who will need to assess the size of the mains connection to the property and local electrical off-site infrastructure.
