Air Source Heat Pump for North Yorkshire Barn Conversion
Fervo Renewable Energy have completed an installation of a 12kW NIBE F2040 air source heat pump for a domestic barn conversion on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
With no mains gas in the village near Settle Mr and Mrs Curry sought a renewable energy solution for the project rather than incur high energy bills for providing heat from a carbon based fuels such as LPG or oil.
With under floor heating throughout the home and insulation levels exceeding those required by current building regulation requirements the NIBE air source heat pump provided the perfect solution.
Delivering low grade heat to the under floor heating and higher temperatures for domestic hot water the NIBE heat pump operates efficiently and exceptionally quietly. Complementing the heat pump is a NIBE 300 litre Megacoil hot water tank maximising heat transfer from the heat pump to the potable water and a 100 litre NIBE UKV buffer tank which improves the efficiency of the heat pump in operation.
The installation qualifies for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme proving an indexed linked, tax free tariff payments for seven years.
Mr Curry commented “Being in the heart of a rural village on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales it is important the heat pump we opted for is unobtrusive and keeps our home warm without being costly to run. We’re delighted with the NIBE heat pump – it ticks every box! Fervo advised us of the most appropriate options and completed the install with the minimum of fuss from our first enquiry to handing over the system”.
